Lovely Bunch for PFF

For a Mrs. Stella Bardwell, 1910, from her Aunt Anna, a very sweet and kind letter. What I do love most is the time people took back then to write each other, because not everyone had a phone, there was no internet and this really was text messaging....I wish we were as civilized!!

Have a lovely PFF day! BTW, you have to excuse the Thursday post for a PFF, I will be away from the computer tomorrow, so I have to do it earlier. Thanks for looking!!!

  1. What a lovely post card writing each other will never go out of style with the older generation. Sending a mail post card is very personal and many times you just want to say thinking of you and nothing else. Thank you for sharing.

  2. Another thing I love about the old cards is that the name, the town, and the state and were sufficient address information.

  4. It looks like everyone is getting started early. People sure sent a lot of postcards back in the early 1900s but a lot of them didn't really say much.

  7. I agree with Postcardy - most of the older cards don't talk about much more than health and weather. But pretty picture! Happy Valentine's weekend, and PFF.

  8. Lovely card, don't you just love the simple addresses. You are so right, it's so nice to get a card isn't it? I must learn to send them again.

  9. Pretty card - lilac isn't it? It reminds me of spring "Come down to Kew in lilac time". There are thousands of young people who are members of Postcrossing - it's great to see that the snail mail tradition is still being upheld.

  10. Beautiful card for the grey rainy PFF. I've gone through several letter writing phases. I love pretty stationary and "real" pens.

  11. I did notice that a lot talk about the weather, but there are some that are so sweet, asking people if they are feeling better, or thanking them for a gift, or just to say hello.... the Lilacs make me smile, spring is a long way from now around these parts, this is as good as it gets for now. Thanks all for your comment and for looking too.

  12. My favorite old cards are the ones with messages on the back. I like the handwriting, the stamps and postmarks and wondering what kind of lives the writer and recipient lived.

  13. I so love old notes and letters. I still have some from my dad who died over 30 years ago. I've saved every single letter for at least the past 25 years....someday I'm going to sit down and re-read all of them. It's sad, the notes sent now via e-mail won't be saved and treasured.

    Your card is lovely!

    Warm blessings,
    Spencer
