I GOT MINE- Funny Postcard for PFF!!
Goodness, this one gave me a good laugh...notice the handwritten sentiment? "He had white britches on", wonder what this lady was up to!?
"?? Connolly and I caught on last night." I'm left wondering what they caught on to? I think it's a pretty risque card considering this was 1912 (and postcards could be read by whoever hands they passed through), however, hanky panky has gone on since the dawn of time! Sounds like a good time was had by all.....I'm sure Miss Mary ??? was very happy for her friend Helen.
Anyhow, have a happy Friday, hope everyone has a great weekend!
Cheers,
Viviana

i love a bit of intrigue! agree that there's a saucy situation here...and not only on the postcard! a great find...thanks for sharing on PFF!
This sounds like a great time. I wish we could have all gone along. It looks to me like the first word is also Helen. "Helen Connolly and I caught on last night." I think it means they were a hit with the boys. Then it looks like she says they had two masquerade suits on. No wonder they had such fun. And it's sent from Atlantic City. The possibilities are endless. Great card! Thanks for sharing it.
Tch tch! If Miss Mary still lives at home I don't think two beats of the postman's step will fall before Miss Mary's mom has a word with Helen's mom. I smell trouble in Wilmington but lots of fun in Atlantic City.
My goodness!!! One would really wonder about this one!! Risque indeed--and intriguing!
Thanks for sharing this old gem.
Happy PFF!
Is he speaking or is it she? I love this. Happy PFF! :)
I guess the white britches must have been part of the masquerade suit?
Your blog is wonderful. Nothing like a person who loves postcards and also does crafts etc. I also am checking out your Etsy shop. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Party time in Atlantic City. Just shows girls in 1912 are just a flighty as now. Great card with the intriguing comments.
Love this postcard, Happy PFF
THIS POSTCARD IS HILARIOUS! I'm with you on this one...they got caught on each other...don't you think?
Oh that mad, mad vintage love!!
Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend!

Atlantic City? Maybe that was the Vegas of the day.....
fun to imagine all sorts of possibilities!
I bet Helen said "what happens in Atlantic City stays in Atlantic City to Mary's mother! Cute card...wish we really knew what Helen's cryptic message meant.
This is a great Atlantic City postcard... I have a whole collection of Atlantic City. Never saw this one... I will have to keep my eye out for it. Thanks for sharing. love the message.
Thanks for stopping by. PFF
This IS a little out there isn't it. Happy PFF
Loving all your comments! I think maybe Mary was not allowed to come with Helen and Helen...maybe her mother was right, the girls would get up to no good in Atlanctic City. I imagine Helen didn't have to do much to find out what colour britches he had on, OH MY! Apparently back in the late 1800's to just around WWII Atlantic City was the place to be seen, preferably on the boardwalk. It's fun to speculate what fun they may have had...happy day everyone!
