Ok, as soon as it's nice out....my blogging goes out the window!

I was just on facebook, you know the place, where you go in to put your update and get sucked in for 2 hours reading everyone's posts, links and comments...I'm glad I did today 'cause Inner Hooker's Blog Roll reminded me I better get my but in gear and get posting something on my blog.

Anyhow, I thought I'd share my little story about The Silver Surfer and some sewing I finally did, with my new machine of course!

A couple weeks ago, my son hauled this huge vacuum cleaner box from the basement and asked me to cut out a surfboard from it. I asked why and he told me he wanted it for his secret identity, OK! So we cut it out and me and the kids helped him paint it silver. When we were done, he looked at me with those big brown eyes and asked "Mom, can we paint some of my clothes silver?" NOPE. I had something better. A few days before this, I had been at WalMart and bought some silver fabric from the 1.98 bin, I figures with kids and my dayhome, you just never know when you might need silver fabric, lucky for my son he has a mom with a sixth sense (my creative sense I think). I took a pair of pajamas and used them as my template to cut out the outfit. I even figures out how to get a hood on the thing.

He wore it for two whole days, even wore it to school under his clothes. When the teacher asked "What is that under your jersey, David?"
"My secret identity" was his reply.

Definitely the Rise of The Silver Surfer is the best costume thus far.

He mentioned last night, just before he closed his eyes, that maybe ?I should make him a Calvin and Hobbes costume too. I told him that it was easy, because Calvin just wears normal clothes, but he said "What about your costume?"... I'm the Mother, I don't need a costume either. "You need a tiger costume if you're gonna be Hobbes" he said. Well, I guess I better get looking for more fabric then!

Cheers and Happy Monday,
Viviana
